Vytautas Slavinskas and Robertas Rimkūnas both were born in Telsiai in the capital of Samogitia. In town there have been upheld the smith’s tradition for a long time. The former college of fine arts of Telsiai was the only school in Lithuania which qualified metal designers – artists. Vytautas Slavinskas has completed this school in 1995 and has received a diploma of a metal designer and blacksmith. In 1995 he married to Giedrė, also a graduate of the same program. They have two children called Urtė and Julius. Vytautas has been working as a blacksmith – artist for twelve years. He attends a lot of seminars, workshops and symposiums. Robertas studied awhile at Academy of agriculture of Kaunas. Later on he had a try at blacksmith. Robertas has learned the craft of blacksmith from his brother amateur Evaldas in his smithy. Robertas married to Jolanta. Two daughters Grėtė and Gintarė are growing up in their family. Robertas and Vytautas united forces in enlarging and modernizing of their smithy. In 2005 they have become the members of the union of the Lithuanian blacksmiths. According to many specialists, their works are interesting and ground – breaking.
